Federal Public Procurement and Property Authority shared it best practices on Electronic Government Procurement system.

(7 sep. 2026| Addis Ababa) — The Federal Public Procurement and Property Authority (FPPPA) hosted a delegation from the Public Procurement Authority of Nigeria for a high-level peer-to-peer knowledge exchange focused on Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) systems.

FPPPA Director General, H. E. Mrs. Meseret Meskele, welcomed the delegates and delivered the opening address, highlighting the current situation and overall strategic direction of Ethiopia’s public procurement and property management systems. Emphasizing that digital transformation goes beyond digitizing procedures, she framed technology as a vital tool to strengthen transparency, efficiency, and accountability.

She also emphasized that one of the important areas of our e-GP development is integration of the procurement system with other government digital platforms and Such integration is essential for creating a connected government ecosystem, reducing duplication, improving data exchange, and making public services more efficient.

H.E. incorporate that sharing knowledge, experiences, innovations, and practical solutions with African brothers’ is more crucial to improve gaps and to become more efficient and competent.

During the session, Mr. Yafet Mekonnen, e-GP Project Manager, delivered a comprehensive presentation detailing the operational rollout and execution overview of Ethiopia’s e-GP system. At the discussion, the Nigerian delegation raised technical and strategic questions regarding implementation strategies, to which FPPPA officials provided clarifications.
