Training on Procurement Audit, Complaint handling

Public Procurement and Property Admin istration Agency in collaboration with the World Bank Ethiopia country office is conducting training on Procurement Audit and Complaint handling on June 8-19/2015 at the conference Hall of Executive Hotel in Adama.

The opening remark of the training was made by Ato Jonse Gedefa Deputy Director General of Public procurement and Property Administration, in his opening speech the director said the aim of the training is to strengthen public procurement audit and Complaint handling at the Federal and Regional states.The director also mentioned some of reform activities that includes revision of legal frame works professionalization of procurement and property administration experts, strengthening the overall procurement audit and Complaint handling system at the Federal, Regional states, and City Administrations.According to Ato Jonse, Public Procurement and property management is one of the focus area of Ethiopian Government as annual budget of the country is increasing because of this  the share of budget that goes to procurement is also increasing at Federal, Regional states and City Administrations. Therefore such kind of training is very crucial to create capacity at all levels.Procurement consultant Joseph Ogachi and his coworkers expressed, structure of proc- urement Audit, unit objectives, Applicable law, structures, the Agency, Functions of the Agency,Powers of the Agency Audit Directorate, Audit staffing, Auditor skills and Public bodies.In the 1st day of the training discussion were made regarding basic principles of public Procurement Non-discrimination  Transparency, Accountability, Fairness and comp- edition.The training is supposed to continue for 12 days.In the 1st day of the training more than 60 Federal, regional states and City Administrations procurement professionals have participated
