Korean Investors group who are interested in the investment of PV (Photo Voltaic) module manufacturing Plant visited The Federal Public Procurement and Property Administration Agency on Wednesday October 1/2014 here in Addis Ababa.
Ato Tsegaye Abebe General Director of Public Procurement and Property Administration Agency in his wel-coming speech said Ethiopia is suitable for foreign investment and addressed vision, mission and values of the Agency.
He also reminded the two Countries relations back during the Koreans’ War in which Ethiopians’ participated in the side of South Korea.
The Private investors described the purpose of their visit is to establish PV Module manufacturing facility in Ethiopia.This contributes to accelerate industrialization of Ethiopia PV industry through Korea-Ethiopia’s development cooperation, establishing foundation of technical on fabrication of solar module and shown interest to contact KOICA (Korean International Cooperation Agency) to support the Agency on e-procurement Feasibility Study.
Change Management and Planning Directorate Director Ato Admasu Mamo gave details about the Importance of Public Procurement System is, to improve the capacity of Local producers, suppliers, contactors and consultants, to attract Foreign direct investment and to enhance Good governance, to build trust between Government and Donors to increase the flow of Official Development Assistance (ODA) through Bilateral and Multilateral Relations.
Ato Admasu also said about General features of Public Procurement and its Legal Framework, Procurement Audit Process, Complaint Handling method, Major Challenges and the way forward.
During the discussion questions and comments have been raised and answers were given.
