FPPPA has launched of the Electronic Government Procurement System (E-GP)Implementation Strategy with the Ministry of Innovation and Technology

The Federal Public Procurement and property Administration has  launched of the Electronic Government Procurement System (e-GP) Implementation Strategy and Roadmap  signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Innovation and Technology and Federal Public Procurement and Property Administration held at Ministry of Finance and Economic Cooperation Building on 15th November, 2018 here in Addis Ababa..

Honorable W/r Marta Luwigi Genera Director of the Federal Public Procurement and Property Administration Agency addressed in her key note speech; she briefly updated on some of the activities were have been undertaking: The Federal Public Procurement and Property Administration Agency’s major reform areas fall into four main areas which are updating the legal framework, capacity development, monitoring and audit in ensuring compliance with proclamation, and introducing E-procurement system.
The Director General stated; reform as well as making adjustment for lessons learned in implementing systems is continuous process. Therefore, there is a constant need to review new technologies and tools and adopt those systems which would be beneficial within the national context of the Government of Ethiopia. The introduction of the e-procurement will be a new initiative in Public procurement in our country. This new approach to conducting procurement will not only have a significant impact across the whole procurement system but will impact on how the Federal Public Procurement and Property Administration Agency performs its regulatory role. In addition, Honorable W/r Marta Luwigi also said the introduction of e-procurement will be done under a carefully developed strategy which takes in to account Ethiopia’s readiness for e-procurement and the capacity of both the public and private sector. The development and implementation of an e-procurement system will be carefully planned based on the Government defined, functional and business requirement.
